Senior Men
On Sunday afternoon we seen two very entertaining games in Pearse Park against Clonoe. One point separated the teams at half time with Clonoe leading 1-8 to 1-7. But Galbally produced some great football, fantastic scores, attacking at pace and our defence putting in a hard shift. A last minute goal seen our senior men seal a win by one point. An overall brilliant performance from the whole team. Final score Galbally 2:14 Clonoe 1:16. A great result

Sunday 26th July we had our first home game for our Senior/ Reserve men of 2020. With the announcement made on Thursday evening that spectators would be allowed to attend outdoor sporting events it was great to see our supporters back in Pearse Park. Our seniors were unlucky not to get something out of the game, losing out by three points to visitors Dromore. Trailing by 4 points at half time, our seniors

What an opening weekend it was for the Pearses with our Senior Men, Reserve Men and Senior Ladies all winning their matches. However our under 14 boys and minor ladies were unfortunate not to secure a win.

Over the past few difficult months Piarsaigh an Ghallbhaile have bade a sad farewell to a number of club members whose deaths, whilst untimely, had not been unexpected. Nothing however could have prepared us for the shocking news that broke shortly after 9am on Tuesday 7th of July when we learned of the sudden passing of Rose Murphy, one of our most loyal supporters and very active club member. The club actively headed up our local Covid-19 support group providing necessary foods and goods for members of our community. Packages containing sanitiser, gloves, visors
Piarsaigh an Ghallbhaile – at the forefront for our Community
We hope all our members are still keeping safe and well. It has been a very strange few months, when we should be in the midst of our busy football season. Our pitches should be packed with youth teams at training sessions/ playing matches and at weekends we should be supporting our senior men and ladies teams. This isn’t the case at present, however the GAA announced at the weekend we will hopefully have some competitive
Piarsaigh an Ghallbhaile – at the forefront for our Community
It is very strange to write up club notes without mentioning the next football match, the club lotto results or when the youth training will be taking place. Everything football related has been put on hold for a while. What we as a club have witnessed again is our incredible community spirit. Since the Covid19 pandemic arrived in Ireland we have seen so many people volunteer in many different ways to help fight against it.
These are indeed uncertain times
