Thoughts & Prayers
Patrick Tally (Jnr)
(The Hill) Galbally
It is with great sadness that we learned of the death of Patrick Tally (Jnr) of the Hill, Galbally, a loyal club member, husband of Helena and father of Oliver, David and Eilis who have all worn the deep blue jersey with pride.  A quiet unassuming gentleman, Patrick was a joy to engage in conversation and had a passionate and deep knowledge of all things Gaelic.  Patrick and Helena have become very familiar faces around the club over the years as they faithfully came along to support their children’s teams through good times and the not so good.  Always willing to assist, many an evening Patrick manned the umpire’s position at various youth games.  Perhaps he came fully into his own throughout the extensive club development programme from 2007 to 2012 when his unrivalled expertise as an electrical engineer really shone through.  Patrick designed and oversaw the entire installation of what is recognised throughout Ireland as the finest club floodlighting anywhere in the country.  Throughout the project he was a joy to work with, his quiet demeanour combined with a steely determination instilled in each of us a sense of ease that the job would be done to perfection and on time.  All who were there on that magical night when Christy and Cathy finally tripped the switch will always remember the joy and pride that filled our hearts as upper Glenbeg flooded with light. No doubt on many occasions since then Patrick looked through the night sky from his lofty viewpoint towards Páirc an Piarsaigh with that same justifiable and deserving sense of pride.  Farewell then Patrick, thank you for everything you gave to the club.  Rest assured generations of Galbally Gaels yet to come will benefit richly from the gifts and skills you shared so generously with us.  To Helena, Oliver, David, Eilis and the wider Tally clan we extend our deepest sympathy.  In these difficult and extra-ordinary times we assure you all of our thoughts and prayers.  Rest in Peace Patrick, your time amongst us was all too short.  Mary Queen of the Gael, Pray for Him.  Go ndéana Dia trócaire ar a anam milis
The club would like to extend our thoughts and prayers to any families in the area who are dealing with bereavement or illness in their family at this time.
