Piarsaigh An Ghallbhaile Notes: Week Beginning 2nd Of March 2020

By Francis O'Neill Fri 27th Mar

Celebration Banquet
We are just one week away from our night of celebrations.  Excitement is building, the committee is working away behind the scenes organising what will be a great night and one to remember.
This Celebration Banquet is a strictly over 18 event.  Anyone under 18 looking to attend must be accompanied by their parents and have their ticket purchased by their parents.  Galbally Pearses will not accept any responsibility for anyone under the age of 18 attending the event.
Music will be provided by ‘The Miracles’, it’s sure to be a great night to celebrate all what Galbally Pearses achieved in 2019.
We waited 61 years to win a Championship, then we went and won both leagues with the Seniors and Reserves. If ever there was a year to celebrate our clubs achievements this is it.  It’s a night not to be missed!

Club Membership
Club Membership is now due, this can be paid this Friday night in the club shop between 7:30pm and 8:30pm.
2020 Membership prices are as follows:
Single Adult £50 Husband & Wife £80 Student £20
OAP £20 Youth £10
Club Na Phiarsaigh £240 (This includes husband, wife and children under the age of 18)
Unless you are a registered member of Galbally Pearses for 2020 you will not be insured whilst participating in any activities.

Minor Ladies
Hard luck to the ladies in their match against Fintona played in snowy conditions.
Final Score: Fintona 5-7 Galbally 2-6

Camps Casca
After our very successful Easter Camp last year, it will be running again this year. Our camp will run on the 15th/16th/17th of April.  There will be two registration nights taking place on 5th and 12th March to sign the children up for the camp.  There will be the opportunity to try on the jersey for sizing.  There is a limit of 80 places for the camp, so please book early to avoid disappointment.  Prices to attend the camp are as follows:
One Child – £30, Two Children – £50, Three Children – £70

Big Breakfast
The planning has already begun for our annual Big Breakfast on St Patrick’s Day.  Like every year it’s great for our community to come together and celebrate St Patrick’s Day Mass followed by a lovely breakfast, with lots of music and dancing for entertainment.  Only this year we will have a few silver cups in attendance.

Club Lotto
Our Club Lotto is a valuable income for the weekly running of our club.  If you are able to purchase a ticket or 2 each week this will help towards the weekly costs in our club.  Our lotto numbers this week were 16 – 6 – 7 – 9.  There was no jackpot winner.  Our 5 Lucky dip winners were: Francis Hughes, Catherine O’Neill, Ethna Corrigan, Christy McVeigh & Paul Rafferty.  Our next jackpot draw will take place on Tuesday 3rd March & will be £5,750.

Club Shop
Our club shop will be opened this week on Friday from 7.30pm to 8pm for Club Gear & Membership.

Thoughts & Prayers
The club would like to extend our thoughts and prayers to any families in the area who are dealing with bereavement or illness in their family at this time.
