Senior & Reserve Men
Our Reserve & Senior Men play Errigal Ciaran this Sunday in Dunmoyle at 2.15pm & 3.45pm respectively.  All support welcome.
Senior Ladies
Our Senior Ladies played Beragh in Beragh on Wednesday 18th May contesting in Round 5 of the Junior League and completed a spirited comeback.  Both teams were weakened with absence it was the 13 girls of Beragh that started the better registering 1-3 in first half, and the only score up front for Galbally in first half was from Claire McGlinchey, though the score-line did not reflect the work rate from the defensive half of the Pearse’s and the second half justified that as the revival of the girls came from joint Captain Eimear Tally in the forward line which took the game by the scruff of the neck and tallied 7 points to her name, defensively solid from Laura Kane in goals right through the back line, Galbally only conceded 3 points in the second half.
The game was a tale of two halves, and the seconds was very much the Pearse’s, and the 47 min goal from Celine Carberry killed of any revival from the Beragh ladies.  Completing the vital score’s in the second half was Celine Carberry with 3, Niamh Donnelly and Amy Carberry with 1 each.  This leaves Galbally 4 out of 4 in the League, and continue their campaign next at home to Clonoe on Saturday 4th June 7pm.
 Final score
Galbally Pearse’s: 1-12 Beragh : 1-6
Under 14 (Boys)
League Semi-Final Spot for Our U14 Boys
Our U14 Boys played Dromore on Thursday 19th May in Pearse Park. Our boys had a good start to the game taking a 4 point to nil lead with points from Jack McElroy, Darragh Kelly, John Hetherington and a great Odhran Gillespie save.  Dromore then thought back to level after scoring a goal and point! Galbally kept fighting and Peter Cush was rewarded with a penalty which Captain John Hetherington calmly put away.  Again Dromore got another goal and point and with a great 1st half defensive performance from Conor McKeown, Galbally then finished the half with more points from Owen Dickson and Darragh McCool.  The young Pearses went in half time with a 4 point lead.
Half Time Score: Galbally 1-9 Dromore 2-2
Galbally started the second half strong with getting the first two scores.  Dromore then fought back scoring a few points off their own.  Barry Carberry got through on goal and took it away brilliantly and with a Senan Morgan point it left the lads 7 up with 10 minutes to go.  Galbally’s defence had a huge challenge on their hands with Dromore attacking in great numbers.  It would be wrong to single out any of the Galbally defense as they all played fantastic.  With last minute blocks from Joel Rafferty and Jack McElroy the Galbally boys held out for a 4 point lead and a place in the u14 League semi-final.
Result: Galbally 2-11 Dromore 2-07

Defibrilator Training
Following a Church Gate Collection held at St John’s Church, Galbally on Graveyard Sunday last year, the money collected has been used to purchase 3 new defibrillators, 5 external Heated Cabinets and Service and Replacement Batteries on two existing Defibrillators in the area owned by Piarsaigh an Ghalbhaille and the Cappagh Village Regeneration Group.
The Defibrillators have been installed at 5 locations in a Yellow Cabinet / Green Cabinet within the area and are for use by the whole community in the event of an emergency.
Locations:
1. Galbally Community Centre Entrance Gates
2. Tally’s Shop / Bar Front Wall – Galbally
3. Malachy Boyles Bar Front Wall – Cappagh
4. Paul Hollands Front Wall – Dernaseer Crossroads
5. Gortavoy Feeds Entrance Gates – Gortavoy
Since then a number of defibrillator & Basic First Aid certificated Courses have been held and 60 people in our area have been trained up in the use of these units. We would ask that everyone who is not trained in the use of these units to find out who is local to them and be familiar in their locations.
