Piarsaigh An Ghallbhaile Notes: Week Beginning 19th Of October

By Francis O'Neill Fri 23rd Oct

Seniors
What a great weekend of celebrating in Pearse Park with the senior men getting presented with the Intermediate League Cup after winning the league.  On Saturday our senior men took on Eskra in their last league game of the year.  The game ended up in a draw, with both teams playing really well. It was Enda McGarrity who got the last two points to equalise the game.  It was great to see so many supporters out to show their support for the senior and reserve team.  This year has been a great one for our senior men with winning not only the League title but Reserve Championship and Ulster League title.  There were plenty of celebrations after the game and it was fantastic to see all the silverware on the table.  During half time in the senior game we had over 150 children playing.  It was brilliant to see so many children out enjoying themselves and also taking part in the senior men’s celebrations, getting photos with the cups after the game.  We hope they remember the celebrations for years to come.

That finishes senior/ reserve football for this season.  We can’t wait to kick start next season already and see what Division One football has to bring.  We would like to thank all the players and management for all their hard work and commitment during the year – it’s great to see it all pay off!
Ladies
Next big event in the calendar is the Galbally Pearse ladies ‘A Night of Fashion’ taking place on Saturday 14th November, doors open at 8.  We have nine fantastic shops attending, La Bella, Cuba, House of Kidz, Dv8, Carmels Boutique, The Club shop, Pink-Rose Boutique, Christina Kelly’s Creations and Brantree Boutique.  Everone will be greeted with Champagne reception.  Followed by music to late this is a night not to be missed.  Tickets will be available or pay at the door £10.
