Piarsaigh An Ghallbhaile Notes: Week Beginning 29th September 2014

By Francis O'Neill Sun 5th Oct

Members and players of Galbally Pearses GAC and indeed the community of Galbally as a whole were deeply saddened on Friday past to learn of the death of our past club chairman and current Honorary President of the club Michael McCaughey. Having worked tirelessly over the years with both the football and Community Centre committees, he will forever be remembered as a true Gael with a deep passion for his local area. His funeral on Monday was testament to his popularity as a community joined together to say goodbye to a gentleman who has touched all our lives with his generosity and good will. Our thoughts are with his wife Mary, sister Kathleen and his extended family circle and friends at this time. Mary Queen of the Gael, pray for him.
