Piarsaigh An Ghallbhaile Notes: Week Beginning 1st Of August

sportive1Sunday 7th August:- Path of the Pearses Cycle Sportive
This Sunday we will be hosting our cycle sportive with 30 & 60 miles routes.  This event will be fully supported with stewards, sweeper vans & food stops with refreshments on return.  Cyclists of all abilities welcome (over 16 only).  Sign on is at 7.30am with the first cyclists away at 8am.  £10 Entry per person.  If you are available to help in any way can you please keep an eye on Facebook/twitter for further details or send a PM to Facebook page to show your interest.

Fundraising Draw
On Sunday evening we launched our 2016 fundraising draw.  We have 20 teams out on the roads selling tickets for the lucky winner to be in with the chance of winning £10,000 (Total Prize fund £15,000).  If you feel that you are able to give up some time and help sell / fundraise please contact any of our committee members.

Senior & Reserve Men
Mixed fortunes to our senior men who managed to get another point in the ACL against Augher in Pearse Park on Sunday.  Next up for the Senior and Reserve men will be Kildress at home on Sunday 14th of August at 2.15pm & 3.45pm respectively.

Senior Ladies
Our senior ladies have still 1 league game before the playoffs – further details to follow.

U16 Boys
An understrength U16 boys team lost to Killeeshil at home on Thursday night.  Next up is Dungannon in Dungannon on Wednesday 3rd August at 7.30pm.  All support welcome.

U16 Girls
Well done to our U16’s who played a friendly on Thursday night against Loughmacrory and played again in the Raymond McGurk Tournament on Saturday.  Their league begins on Thursday night away to Strabane at 7.30pm. Girls are leaving Pearse Park at 5.15pm.

U12 Boys
Our U12 Boys are playing Trillick in Trillick on Wednesday 3rd August at 7.15pm.  Our U12 Boys have been invited to the Harte/Mullan Tournament in Loughmacrory on the last weekend of August. More details to follow.

U12 Girls
Well done to our U12 girls who got through to the Semi-Finals of the Cathy McVeigh Tournament on Saturday losing out to eventual winners Killeeshil.  Training continues this Thursday from 7pm to 8pm.  The next league game is on Thursday 18th August away to Aghaloo.

U10 Boys
Well done to our U10 boys who played their hearts out at the Johnny Begley Tournament on Saturday 30th July in Carrickmore.  Dates of upcoming blitzes: – 20th August, 10th September & 24th September. Details of venues / times will be confirmed closer to the time.

U10 Girls
The next blitz will be on Saturday 13th August – more details to follow.

U8 Boys

Youth Training
Due to the Tyrone Gaa Summer Camp being on this week there will be no training this Thursday night.

Summer Camps
The Kelloggs Cul Camp takes place in Pearse Park from the 15th – 19th August. Gear will be reserved for all advanced bookings made.  Due to demand the online booking sites for the Kellogg’s Camps is now closed.  There is no gear remaining for late registrations.  For those registering late they hope to source gear asap but it could take a number of weeks.

Cathy McVeigh U12 Girls Tournament
On Saturday 30th July we held our first Annual Cathy McVeigh Tournament.  We had teams from Loughmacrory, Pomeroy, Lissan, Donaghmore, Killeeshil & Beragh in attendance.  A great day of football amongst the showers and it was great to see so many out supporting the girls.  Through to the semi-finals where Galbally, Errigal Ciaran, Donaghmore & Killeshil with Donaghmore & Killeshil through to the Final.  After fantastic performances all round it was Killeeshil Gaa who came away winning the Cathy McVeigh Memorial Cup.  A massive thank you to everyone who helped out in any way in the preperations, setup and for help on today.  Thank You to the McVeigh family for allowing Piarsaigh An Ghallbhaile to host this tournament in Cathy’s name.

Club Lotto

If you need a lotto seller to call to your home, contact any committee member or alternatively tickets can be purchased in Tally’s Mace or Donnelly’s Post Office.  Lotto is an essential source of income for the club & your continued support is greatly appreciated.
