Piarsaigh An Ghallbhaile Notes: Week Beginning 27th Of April

Senior Men
This Sunday our Senior and Reserve players will be back in action, when they play at home against Aghyaran throw in at 2:15pm  & 3.45pm.  All support is welcome to Pearse Park for the men.

Senior Ladies
Pearse Park was venue for the junior league opener of Galbally Pearse’s vs Beragh.  With the bad weather conditions the ladies showed some great play and team work and with a fantastic effort in the second half Pearse’s ladies won with a score line of 1-11 to 0-4.  Well done to all the ladies involved and manager Tony McVeigh, two points well earned.  Next up is Badoney next Saturday evening at home.

Youth Football
Great win by the Minor boys in the first round of the championship beating Dromore on a scoreline of 1-9 to 1-8.  Congratulations to all the boys and management.
Training for U8 & U10’s boys and girls will continue on Wednesdays at 7-8pm.  Could all youth players please make sure and wear a Gum Shield and come with their own water bottle, preferably labelled with their own name to all training sessions /matches.
If there is any parents who would like to help out with the younger teams please get in contact with Kevin Kelly, all help would be greatly appreciated. Under 10 Girls will be taking part in a Blitz this Saturday, no venue has been decided yet.  Once we get notified we will put the message up on our Facebook page.
Gaelic 4 Girls will continue every Monday 6:30-7:30.

Path of the Pearses
We had another good response at our registration on Monday night we are now touching near 150 cyclists.  The first official training session will take place on Wednesday 6th of May at 6:30pm  sharp. If there is anyone who still wishes to register you can do so before the training starts at 6:30pm, registration will open at 6:00pm.
For anyone who is unsure what way the registration works, only £40 has to be paid up front when registering we take all your details including the size of your cycling tops, there is tops available to try on for sizing when you register this is to insure you get the correct size.  Once you sign up you will receive an Information Pack – within this pack there is a sponsor sheet where you will be able to fund raise the rest of the £110.  There is also a leaflet about Cycling Ireland, we would strongly advise all our cyclist to get insurance with cycling Ireland.
It is COMPULSORY everyone wears a Helmet.  We would suggest everyone gets their bicycles checked making sure they are ready for the road.  We would also recommend the following: Water, A Jacket, Cycling shorts, Tubes and Pump.
If you haven’t already,  please ‘Like’ our ‘Path of the Pearses’ Facebook page, please do so it is here you will receive all information about the event.  Now that some people are already out training, please send us your ‘cycling selfies’ or group photos, we would love to see how everyone’s training is coming along and what village, towns or county you’s are cycling too.

Gaeltacht Grants
Anyone wishing to apply for an Irish language grants, application forms can be received from Tallys Shop.  Please note anyone wishing to apply for the grant MUST be a member of Galbally Pearses.  Closing date for the grants in the 14th June.

Tyrone V Donegal
Any club member requesting tickets for the Tyrone vs Donegal Senior Championship game on Sunday 17th May in Ballybofey are asked to put their name(s) in the box placed in Tallys shop.
All entries must have a contact telephone number and made clear of what type of ticket you require for example Adult, Senior citizen or Juvenile.
This box will be collected on Tuesday 5th May at 6pm sharp.

Golf Classic
Golf Classic will take place on Friday 22nd May. Team of 4 for £140.  Dinner and a starter pack provided.

Last Man Standing
After the weekend matches we now have only 8 people left in the Last Man Standing competition, with Manchester City the only winning team picked.

Tyrone Summer Camp
Any underage coach in the club who are looking to coach at Tyrone summer camps please get in touch with our youth officer Kevin Kelly.

Club Shop
The club shop will be open every Friday 7:30pm to 8:30pm and also during senior and reserves games at home.

Tyrone U21
Fearghal and Ronan, the club would like to wish you and the rest of the squad and management the best of luck in the U21 All Ireland Final on Saturday.  Great achievement for you both, enjoy it all and we hope the Cup will be in Pearse Park some day.

Safety on the roads
Can everyone please beware now that our cyclists are out and about the roads please take extra caution. We want to ensure everyone’s safety is our main priority.
