Piarsaigh An Ghallbhaile Notes: Week Beginning 9th February

Senior Football

Our Senior footballs had a good start to the Ulster League Campaign with a convincing win over An Riocht with a score line of 2:13 to 1:7. This week the footballers are away to Drumragh on Sunday 15th with a 12.00 throw-in. All Support welcome.

Ladies Football

Training for senior and minor girls continues on Thursday night 7-8pm. Our U14 training will be starting within the next few weeks, more details to follow.

The Club have been honored in being chosen for a ‘Gaelic For Girls’ Initiative Programme aiming to support coaching and aid  training for girls ages 8-12yrs within the club. This Programme will run in March, starting date to be confirmed later. There will be a training night for all coaches within the club interested in helping with ladies football on Tuesday 24th February 7:30-9:30pm in the Community Centre. This programme will be run by the Ulster Council, so we ask anyone who would be interested in helping our ladies team to please attend that night.

Youth Football

Last week we had over 50 children at our Pearse Og Programme. Our Pearse Óg Programme will continue this Friday 13th  at 7:30pm to 8:30pm for all children boys and girls from the classes P.1 to P.3. For any children who never attended the first week, can all Parents/Guardians please bring the children’s consent forms that were given out in the primary school.

Culture

So our Instrumental group are heading to Scor County Final- such an achievement for our club. Well done to Mairead Hurson, Rose-Marie Holland, Mick Boyle and Niall Hackett, we wish them the best of luck in the final on the 22nd of February in Coalisland. Hard luck to our Ballad Group, Quiz and Recitation who narrowly missed out on the final.

Upcoming GAA Courses

Enhancing games sense and developing thinking players

This session will look at coaching players through games and how to develop a players capacity to make decisions on and off the ball.

Date: Wednesday 18th February

Venue: Tyrone GAA Centre, Garvaghey

Time: 7:30pm

 

Online foundation award course

There is currently an online foundation award football course running in the County.  If any coaches from within our Club would like registered on the course please get in contact with Kevin Kelly. The online modules must be completed by Friday 20th February.  The practical element of the course will take place on the 21st February in the Tyrone GAA Centre, Garvaghey.

 

Club an Phiarsaigh

For all ‘Club an Phiarsaigh’ members it has come around to the time of year again where we would ask you to renew your membership. For existing and any new members who wish to join ‘Club an Phiarsaigh’, please contact a member of the committee We would like to thank everyone for your continued support in ‘Club an Phiarsaigh’, without this our club would simply not be where it is today.
